Poster announcing march times and locations to protest the 1981 South African Springbok rugby tour of New Zealand on 3 July 1981. Historical Note
On Friday, 3 July 1981 a rally was held in Cathedral Square, Christchurch to try to stop the South African Springbok rugby tour from going ahead. It was followed by a mass sit-in in Latimer Square where a ‘tent-city’ was erected.
