Hornby Masonic Lodge/Islington Hall

The Hornby Masonic Lodge/Islington Hall at 10 Brixton Street, Islington. Used as a meeting place for Hornby 425 Masonic Lodge.

Contributor's note: The hall is part of an extensive complex of c1870-1921 buildings making up the Islington Freezing Works and its associated workers' settlement. There is a unity of style between the old works buildings, the hall, and some surviving cottages. The wooden portion of the building to the south of the main hall dates from 1870 and was originally the Islington Meat Works library. It was also used for early church services. The hall is now used as a meeting place by the Hornby 425 Masonic Lodge.
