Reserved parking on Worcester Street

South Pacific Television trucks in reserved parking spaces outside the State Insurance building on Worcester Street.

Caption: Ever wondered how, when you're touring the inner city in a vain search for a parking space, some people seem to have all they need? This little mystery was solved, for me, by the Ministry of Transport. If you want a few extra parking spaces kept for you, like the broadcasting vans above, you simply go along to the Christchurch City Council with a good story and a fistful of dollars. In return, they'll equip you with one of those yellow "reserved" signs and the meter's yours - for a while, anyway.
