For the fifth year in a row, the club has won tbe Ilford Shield, a national inter-secondary school photography competition. From more the 40 entries, Papanui was placed first overall, and gained two firsts in the individual open print and open slide sections.
Another member of the club scored second, while the others received honours and merits.
Gathered round the shield are (clockwise from bottom left): Katrina Boran, Robert Crossen, Andrew Bayliss, Janine Berry, Rochelle Lewis, instructor Tony Bridge, Melanie Price, instructor Alan Smith, Melissa Sandom, Tanya Scobie and Justine Wilson.
