Nurses’ Memorial Chapel exterior
Exterior of the Nurses’ Memorial Chapel on the grounds of Christchurch Hospital on Riccarton Avenue.
Contributor’s note: "The red brick neo-Gothic Chapel sits on its own historic reserve, in front of Christchurch Women's Hospital in Riccarton Avenue. Built to commemorate nurses who died in WWI and the 1918 Influenza Epidemic, it was completed in 1928 and was NZ's first hospital chapel. After a major fundraising effort it was designed by JG Collins (free of charge) and constructed by W Williamson."
