Soldering a Vanguard
Work being carried out in a Vanguard motor car at Motor Assemblies who were situated in Tuam Street 1940s - 1965.
From back of photo: Soldering or lead-loading joints which would otherwise not be waterproof. This operation calls for patience and a "know-how" complex. Less solder is used on a Vanguard than on many other makes of car body. NZ Motor Assemblies Ltd factory on the South side of Tuam Street at the Fitzgerald Avenue corner of Christchurch NZ.
Highly Commended entry in the 2016 Christchurch City Libraries Photo Hunt.
