Joseph John Shine

Joseph John Shine of the South Canterbury Mounted Rifles.

Joseph John Shine (Service no. 78259) was born in Timaru on 4 October 1897. Prior to enlistment, he worked as a farm hand at Adair, Timaru. He served in Egypt with the 42nd New Zealand Mounted Rifles and was also posted to the machine gun squadron. He was discharged on 12 October 1919.
