The nurses' home, designed by J. C. Maddison and built in 1894, stood on "Hospital Corner" - the corner of Oxford Terrace and Riccarton Avenue Postcard P. T. [Post & Telegraph] Series 99.
Built by my grandfather Billy Winsor, who had an expert stone mason working for him at the time. Rock from the Halswell Quarry was used often in his houses.
