Christchurch City Council roll of honour
Unveiled in 1919, the Christchurch City Council roll of honour board lists the names of Christchurch City Council employees who served in the First World War.
The Christchurch City Council roll of honour board was initially located in the municipal chambers building at the corner of Oxford Terrace and Worcester Street. At a ceremony held on 26 March 1919, the board was unveiled before a large audience by Mayor Henry Holland. It was initially hoped that once a town hall was constructed the board would be relocated there. Yet even after the Christchurch City Council relocated to the new civic offices on Manchester Street the board remained in the former municipal chambers building.
