Coutts Island War Memorial
Situated in Coutts Island War Memorial Reserve, at the Intersection of Dickeys Road and Coutts Island Road, the Coutts Island War Memorial was unveiled in 1919.
The Coutts Island War Memorial, situated at the corner of Dickeys Road and Coutts Island Road, is dedicated to local residents who lost their lives in the First World War and Second World War. The memorial is a black marble spire set on a square marble base which in turn sits on a concrete plinth and steps. The memorial was unveiled in July 1919.
The northern facade of the monument reads: Erected by the residents in memory of the Coutts Island boys who lost their lives in the Great European War: J. E. Cooksley; O. M. Todd; O. G. Wright; T. A. Scott; E. A. Todd.
The eastern facade of the monument reads: Also those who lost their lives in Second World War: C. R. Pearce; J. E. Easterbrook.
By 2016, the condition of the memorial had deteriorated and restoration was required. This project lasted from March to November 2016.
