Hornby Primary School War Memorial

Situated in the grounds of the Hornby Primary School, the memorial, originally an artesian pump, was erected in 1921 in the form of a wall for the people of Hornby and Islington who lost their lives in the World War I.

The memorial also records the names of those soldiers who served in the Second World War.

Another panel lists the members of the School Committee. In 2008 the names of those soldiers from Hornby who perished in all conflicts were added.

The Press article from October 1919 lists the names originally added to the monument (Note: some of the names have been recorded incorrectly).
