The New Brighton Surf Lifesaving Club Memorial window
The New Brighton Surf Lifesaving Club decided after the First World War to erect a memorial window in their clubrooms. This was to remember the names of the 17 club members who ‘made the great sacrifice’.
The beautiful stained glass window was unveiled on 29th April 1923, on the eastern wall of the clubrooms, in the presence of many relatives and friends of those who died.
The soldiers’ names on the window are:
